To help advocate for the environment, please welcome Ash

To help advocate for the environment, please welcme Ash, a fellow writers on our poetry group, 'Poetry Corner.' Ash wrote a poem in advocacy about and to express for the need of helping the environment. Ash's very interesting and unique poem in advocacy of the enviroment about how humans have treated the Earth below:

Martian aint no Martian

Behold! Here rises the orange moon

Behold! The stars on a night so clear

A night that for poets seems but a boon

And oh! To heaven if I weren’t but near.

The western wind washes my face over wide

Taking much care I succumb not to its frosty chide.

Whilst a bird sings me such a song,

Making me forget from where I belong.

My heart consoles itself – earth is a nice place!

I could have stayed in it till the End of Days.

Storm, fire, rain – I shall not perish

Even humans cannot have me demolished.

But my heart aches not – earth hath me well welcom’d.

A welcome to which I wasn’t but stunned.

And oh my! If heaven this not be,

I know not where it other else should be!

But what pains my heart is this –

Humans, oh you foolish humans –you treat this heaven with nothing but diss!

Know you not how precious it is

Or knowingly you let go her concerns amiss?!

Curse you – you ignorant fools,

That rid this earth of its pleasant cools.

Making heaven such a hellish hub,

Consider you yourselves Beezlebub?

I come from far yet I fail not hear

Cries from a heart that hath held a stranger dear

Call you them floods – yet realize you not

Where from – who from the tears as floods be brought.

A stranger I be , but yet I love –

The earth – with a heart as pure as that of a dove

Yet I cannot overcome my grief

The torture exercised on it – to tell you in brief.

And so disgusted – not with Earth but with you

You heartless cruel unworthy fools –

I leave heaven with a broken heart

But unlike you, the Earth from my heart shant ever be apart…
